Celebrating 60 Years of Medical Innovation

2022: 60 Years of Revolutionizing Healthcare

For the past 60 years, ALIN Foundation has been guided by founder Dr. Kenneth Matsumura’s simple yet powerful idea that “it is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live.”

ALIN Foundation was formed six decades ago to handle our philanthropic work providing equitable access to groundbreaking healthcare. Over time, that principle has guided ALIN Foundation as it has evolved to spark bold, innovative solutions that help populations around the world build economic security and stay connected to their communities.

The Foundation runs long-standing programs such as the Side Effect-Free Chemo Program—curing cancer while negating the side effects usually associated with chemotherapy; Infectious Care Program—helping to safely and efficiently treat infectious patients while protecting healthcare staff, patients, and loved ones; the Fertility Tracker Program—helping women take control of their reproductive cycle by accurately reporting ovulation schedules; and the Bio-Artifical Liver Program—collaborating to give patients with liver issues the time they need to safely recover.

Today, under the leadership of Dr. Kenneth Matsumura and his dedicated staff, ALIN Foundation envisions a world where no person is denied access to healthcare. It continues to innovate to make that vision a reality.

The foundation brings together leaders in industry and government to find practical approaches to help people be their healthiest selves, focusing on areas that include the most serious healthcare issues facing the world today world — heart attack, cancer, diabetes, infectious diseases, and liver failure.

None of this would be possible without the hard work of our staff and volunteers and the generous contributions of the foundation’s donors.

We are proud of the work ALIN Foundation has done over the past 60 years. While it has continued to adapt to meet the immediate needs of people in times of crisis, it has never lost sight of its focus on changing the circumstances that threaten people’s well-being in the first place. With the continued support of our donors and volunteers, it will be there for the next 60 years.
